OUR HISTORY
Our partners founded Canopy 360 Wealth, LLC, because they have a mutually aligned belief that clients should experience individualized financial guidance paired with "in house" investment management from a team of professionals required to act as fiduciaries.
Lance has been in the investment services industry since 1996. He began his career with Dun & Bradstreet, working as an analyst selecting investments for pension plans. In 1998, he transitioned to SunTrust, continuing his career as a portfolio manager for high net worth clients. When SunTrust began to reduce operations in the central Florida area, Lance decided to affiliate with Morgan Stanley and continue working with high net worth clients. Having spent a few years with Morgan Stanley, Lance was able to understand the culture and corporate initiative enough to determine it wasn’t the right place for him to continue to grow his wealth management practice. Upon this realization, Lance began the search for a firm that understood that the client relationship is the most important piece of the puzzle, thus he chose to come to Raymond James. Lance’s primary responsibility to our clients is to provide portfolio management. Having spent nearly all of his career analyzing investments and building portfolios, it was only natural that this would be his commitment to our clients. Lance manages multiple models, each focused on a different level of growth objectives and risk measures.
Jamie began working with Lance and Nan in the beginning of 2014, after achieving her Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2013. As client’s retirement needs have become more diverse and more intricate, having someone dedicated to serving that need seemed necessary. Jamie joined the financial services industry in October of 2011 as a service associate. She primarily assisted advisors in the day-to-day services to clients. While becoming an advisor was always the goal, Jamie wanted to ensure she was aligning with a team that fit her personality and was committed to servicing clients the same way she was. One of her primary roles with the team is the discovery process we work with clients through as the initial step in our financial planning process. She spends the bulk of her time working through the collaborative construction of financial plans with clients, hosting review meetings and helping to articulate the investment strategy being executed in our managed accounts.
Running a parallel career path for his wealth management business, Russell graduated from college in 2001 and, like his grandfather before him, became a CPA. Within a few years of graduating, Russell opened his own practice and shortly after that he established Lindsay Financial Services. Russell focused on his clients’ needs from a holistic perspective and worked with other skilled professionals to choose the funds that were the most appropriate investment for his clients. Forecasting the growth of both his CPA firm and his wealth management firm, Russell could see it was time to begin searching for the right partners to affiliate with him on his wealth management platform. Enter Lance and Jamie.
Over a casual, “get to know each other” style lunch, Lance and Russell uncovered the similarities of their respective businesses, and the rest is history. Canopy 360 Wealth, LLC, was established in early 2018 and became a Registered Investment Advisory firm with the SEC later that year. From approximately $107 million in invested assets, the firm has grown significantly. Managing nearly a quarter of a billion dollars has come with lots of exciting changes…additional team members, new technology, new office space, and a great prospect of continued strong growth.
